2 Madagascar vanilla beans
12 oz vodka
Slice the vanilla pods, scrape out the beans and set aside.
Cut the pods into 1-2 inch pieces.
In a 2 cup mason jar or bottle, add the vodka, vanilla beans and pods.
Seal the jar tightly and give it a good shake.
Place the jar in a dark place, it is important that the jar be away from sunlight.
Shake the jar once a day for a week and then once a week for 3 months. Then shake the jar once a month for another 3 months.
After 6 months your vanilla should be ready for use.

21 vanilla beans
1.75 liters of vodka
Empty ½ of the vodka into another empty vodka bottle and add the beans and pods, split evenly, to the vodka bottles. Seal, shake and store in a dark place.
Follow the same shaking method and fermenting time. Divide amongst small 4 oz brown bottles, decorate and give as gifts. Your friends and family will love it!
