Hoisin Pork Loin Serves 4

Butter based cooking spray

3lb pork loin roast

¾ cup Hoisin sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp freshly grated ginger

1 tbsp chili paste

1 tbsp rice wine vinegar

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp dark sesame oil

4 tsp cornstarch

3 scallions, thinly sliced

1/3 cup chopped cilantro, if desired


Coat the bottom of the crock-pot with the cooking spray and add the pork loin roast.


In a small bowl mix the hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, chili paste, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce and sesame oil. With a wire whisk add in the cornstarch.


Pour the mixture over the top of the pork loin.


Cover the crock-pot and cook on low for 8 hours. 3 ½ hrs on high.


Remove the pork to a platter and let stand for 10 minutes covered with foil. Slice the roast and serve with liquid from the crock-pot drizzled over the top. Garnish with the scallions and cilantro.
