Pastry for Single Pie Crust


1 ½ cup flour

½ tsp salt

1/3 cup shortening

4 tbsp cold water, more if needed


In a medium bowl combine the flour, and salt; cut in the shortening until crumbly.


Gradually add in the water tossing with a fork until the dough forms a ball.


Roll out with a rolling pin to fit a 9" or 10" pie plate.


Transfer the pastry to the pie plate.


Fill or bake the shell according to your recipe directions.
