Crisp Chocolate Chip Cookies Makes 2 dozen

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup white sugar

1 cup light brown sugar, packed

2 eggs

2tsp vanilla extract

3 cups flour

1tsp baking soda

2tsp hot water

½ tsp salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 350°.

In a medium bowl cream the butter and sugars together until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, beat well to combine. Stir in the vanilla.

Dissolve the baking soda in the hot water and add to the batter with the salt.

Gradually add in the flour; when blended add the chocolate chips.

Drop by the spoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are browned.
