Mixed Greens Salad with Strawberries Red onions and Candied Almonds

Mixed greens

Strawberries, hulled and quartered

½ cup slivered almonds

½ red onion, thinly sliced

2 tbsp sugar

balsamic vinaigrette


Add the almonds and the sugar to a small sauté pan. Heat on low until the sugar starts to melt, and the almonds become toasted. Take your time with this step. Cool on a sheet of waxed paper.


Toss the greens, strawberries and red onion with the vinaigrette and top with the candied almonds.
