Overnight Cinnamon Baked French Toast Casserole Serves 10-12

1 loaf Sourdough Or French Bread, cut into chunks

8 whole eggs

2 cups whole milk

1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

3/4 cups Sugar

2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract


TOPPING

3/4 cup flour

3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

3 teaspoons cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 stick butter, cut in pieces



Grease a 9 x 13 casserole dish with butter and scatter the bread in the bottom of the dish.


Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar and vanilla. Pour over the bread.


Cover and store in refrigerator overnight.


In another bowl, mix 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon and salt. Add butter and mix until crumbs form. Store the crumb mixture in the fridge overnight.


In the morning,


Preheat oven to 350º

Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the casserole and bake for 50-60 minutes or until firm throughout.


Sprinkle a little powdered sugar and serve with Maple syrup.
